Then after some time away doing the student thing, I come back strong with some NCAA Football 11, dynasty mode. Boy, had it been a while too. I have these new sliders that I've been trying out recently and they work wonders! Albeit against Florida International, I had a fun game that went by much more quickly and enjoyable than I remember NCAA Football 11 being recently... granted I am in a NBA mood as of late.
Finally as night approached and I became bored with my piano, I had an itching for some Call of Duty 4. It's funny how much I've grown to dislike Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 since the summer. I just have totally become sick of the camper mentality that the game has had from day one of it's release almost a year ago today. If you don't know what I mean, pick up the game, throw it in and jump online to a never-ending cycle of air strikes, harriers and chopper gunners. Within the first 4-5 minutes of a game online someone has camped enough to be rewarded with a kill streak that will allow them to sit in a corner while their next even more deadly kill streak gets unlocked by the previous kill streak -- and then the most recent kill streak leads to a final, even more deadlier kill streak to end all kill streaks that leads most likely to the end of the game. Confused?
Anyway, Call of Duty 4 is still such a refreshing game after all this time. No complicated kill streak combos to worry about, just a UAV, air strike and helicopter. I made it through two games and then realized that my skill level still lacked in all areas and decided to hang up the AK-47.
Oh NBA 2k11, my security blanket for gaming. When all else fails in the word of gaming, I can throw you in my xbox and watch the good times roll. Even as I type this blog, I am staring at the charming pause screen of a Cleveland Cavaliers vs Washington Wizards NBA today matchup. Score you may ask? Ehhh, 20-13 I am losing, but only because Gilbert Arenas decided to start the game hotter than Eva Longoria on an italian beach. We'll see though, my Cavaliers are hanging in their, weather the storm, ready to bounce back with a run of their own.
And now, I exit.
